Sustainability

As a producer of oleochemicals, sustainability is at the core of our operations and decision-making. Oleochemicals are derived from natural fats and oils and offer a renewable and environmentally-friendly alternative to other kinds of additives. With us being a part of Peter Greven Group, we make our contribution to the group-wide sustainability efforts.

 

CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY

Our company group has committed to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The focus is put on 4 of the SDGs:

All companies of Peter Greven Group committed to a joint Code of Conduct. 

The products are based on natural and renewable raw materials. 

 

The headquarters is member of the Renewable Carbon Initiative (RCI).

Peter Greven Group signed the Responsible Care Global Charter of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA).

Our products are based on sustainable, renewable raw materials.

We are a member of RSPO to support sustainable palm oil production. 

Our climate protection stra­tegy is oriented towards the science-based targets.

RESPONSIBLE CARE GLOBAL CHARTER

Responsible Care® is the global, voluntary initiative of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA). The Responsible Care Global Charter outlines the principles of responsible corporate governance that signatory companies commit to upholding. Peter Greven Group became part of this initiative in 2018.

ECOVADIS

EcoVadis provides an external assessment on how effectively we have integrated sustainability principles into our business activities. In the most recent evaluation for Peter Greven Group, we achieve the Silver sustainability rating again. This places us among the top 25% of companies assessed by EcoVadis.

Climate Protection Strategy

The climate protection strategy of the Peter Greven Group is oriented towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the EU Green deal. The set goals to pave the way to climate neutrality follow the science-based targets initiative (SBTi).

Peter Greven headquarters in Germany plans to achieve net zero emissions by 2035. All other companies of the group, inlcuding Norac Additives, shall reach this goal by 2050.

Sustainable Raw Materials

As our products are based on natural raw materials, the sustainable sourcing throughout the supply chains is important. 

RENEWABLE CARBON INITIATIVE

Renewable Carbon Initiative (RCI) encourages the changeover from fossil based to renewable carbon for organic chemicals and materials. Our headquarters in Germany is part of this initiative. 

SUSTAINABLE PALM OIL

Sustainable palm oil sourcing is important for the Peter Greven Group. 

PALM OIL SOURCING POLICY

Peter Greven Group committed to a Palm Oil Sourcing Policy to support sustainable palm oil supply chains. This document as well as ourCode of Conduct is not only effective for us but also applies as ethical guidelines for our suppliers. 

RSPO CERTIFIED PALM OIL

RSPO stands for Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. It is a non-profit organisation developing international standards for sustainable palm oil. Different certification schemes were developed. 

Today all sites of Peter Greven Group are RSPO certified and offer Mass Balance (MB) certified products.
